Giovanni Carpanetto
(Turin 1863 – 1928)

He was one of the first Italian poster designers and made his first appearance with the  1887 poster, promoted by the Fine Art Society.

 He studied at Accademia Albertina and was a clever pupil of Andrea Gastaldi and  Enrico Gamba. Very skilful painter of landscapes and portraits, he started to take part to exhibitions since 1884 both in Italy and in Germany.

He learned the art of  lithography at Officina Doyen in Turin, and was a teacher at Accademia Albertina.
