The sepulcre aedicule of
Arturo Toscanini's family was built after a
design by the engineer L. Guarnaschelli, to host
the miserable relics of Giorgio, the baby son of
the musician, who had died in Buenos Aires in
1906. It is entirely covered with Carrara
marble,upon which Bistolfi has represented, with
a sculptoreal technique closer to carving rather
than relief, symbolic episodes of the short life
that is commemorated by the grave. The monument
is peculiar in the form and in the compositive
solution, up to date with the highest European
culture of the secessionist area. This monument,
that has undergone some damages during the
Second World War, is among Bistolfi's
